How to set up an OCCB concert
Activities Directors (for hospitals, senior's residences or community
events)
are invited to email
requests for an OCCB concert.
To accommodate the band for a concert requires a space
about 32 feet wide by 16 feet deep with
good overhead lighting and about 45
chairs arranged in three rows (say
10, 15 and 20).

About 8 of the 15
chairs in the middle row should be without
arms for the saxophones and bass clarinets, and about 8 of the 20
chairs in the back row should be without
arms for the horns and tubas.
Note to band members: About 5 more
chairs are usually setup for rehearsals
(e.g. 10, 16 and 24 = 50 chairs total)
Since most band members arrive by car, it will be appreciated if you
let us know
whether there is (or should be) adequate parking space at the concert
venue.
Most band members would be grateful for something to drink after
playing the concert,
(e.g. water, juice, lemonade, tea or coffee) if this is not too much
trouble.
An announcer's microphone is useful.
When playing at privately operated locations (as opposed to hospitals)
we can accept donations to offset the cost of
the band's rehearsal space rental and music purchases.
The band will be pleased to issue receipts for income tax purposes
since we are a registered non-profit organization.
Please make cheques payable to: "Ottawa Community Concert Band, Inc."
Note that all donations, although gladly accepted, are entirely
voluntary.
